life goes on...
Ok. It's funny that I started with that line... my intention right now was not to write about Europe. I was planning on moving forward. But that line, it just brought me back. Back to Europe, back to France, back to Paris, back to Noisy-le-Sec, back to the flat of my Parisian friends. So, regardless of intentions, I will go back...I met Amondine and Shaman on the bridge, when in France, the Pont, the Pont de Arts to be exact. Amondine spoke wonderful English and invited me to a BBQ at her flat in the suburbs of Paris the following day. One of the major advantages to travelling alone, I could just say yes, no checking in, I was on the move again.
After a bit of minor confusion we met up next to the train station the following day and I walked with them back to the flat. Shaman aka Julian, didn't feel that he spoke English very well. He was able to communicate with me, in my book, that is enough. We got to an old building, so old it required a skeleton key to open the door. Amondine lives on the 3rd floor, Julian is from Remes, Eastern France, and is just visiting for the weekend. So Amondine lives with Delphine and the new girl. Downstairs is another flat, friends of theirs, Julian and Mak. There was a girl that lived there too, a gorgeous girl who was Portugese, I only met her the last night I was there, so I don't remember her name off hand. Any who, they refered to themselves as "Friends." It was very appropriate, but hard to place everyone in their different American personas, it wasn't an exact "Friends" fit, but it was close enough. They were all originally from Remes, except Mak, and I feel they were very lucky to find two flats in the same builidng like that. Benoit, Amondines cousin, and as I had said Julian (which I will refer to as Shaman from this point forward) were visiting for a long weekend.
The first thing I noticed about their flat, was there was no living room. Three bedrooms, a wc, a wash room, and a tiny kitchen. I love how small things are in Europe.
dang it, gotta go to the post office before they close....finish in a bit
